Strategy Director
Barrows is looking for a Strategy Director with 8+ years of retail, agency, and/or marketing experience to join our dynamic team in New York Strategists have an exciting role at Barrows - truly, no two days are alike. Responsibilities
In addition to bringing this killer attitude and energy, they must be able to lead the development of
strategy for all of our clients with the following key accountabilities:
• Conduct research and distill brand, consumer, shopper and category data to infer critical and
actionable insights
• Own the development of data and insight-driven strategic objectives for all programs
• Have the ability to captivate a room with compelling storytelling, winning over hearts and minds
with every presentation or pitch
• Develop strategic, data-driven creative concepts
• Oversee and approve all copywriting
• Communicate strategic visions to clients; help clients socialize strategy to the greater
organization
• Manage a direct report
• Participate in pitches, business development, and regular presentations to clients
• Build strong partnerships with client service and creative teams
• Build strong client relationships through the production of best-in-class work
Qualifications
• 8-10 years of agency or client experience in brand, trade or shopper marketing or category
management/sales
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Superior storytelling ability with excellent presentation and copywriting skills
• Experience developing BTL programming, retail strategy, and shopper journeys strongly
preferred
• Creative thinker with objective lens on varying consumer and shopper segments
• Bring forth a passion for the psychology behind how and why shoppers make purchase decisions
• Exhibit a deep understanding of the US retail landscape, inclusive of channel variation and top
retailers in the marketplace
• Toolkit and BTL experience preferred
• Shopper experience and holistic 360-degree planning preferred
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, while working quickly against short deadlines
