Junior Content Strategist


We are on an exciting journey to create a new & dynamic medium for brands and retailers to communicate with their customers at the point of purchase in FMCG retail. Content is the beating heart of the Connected Store product. But creating great in-store digital content isn’t just a case of running a TV ad on a screen by the product. Strong content starts with a strong strategy that ensures it is attention-grabbing, contextual & relevant to the shopper. We are looking for someone who is keen to get a foot in the door of a growing Marketing agency, as a Junior Content Strategist - to join the exciting and expanding strategy team in London working specifically on a major Retail Account. You will be tasked with supporting the Strategy Director with all things Connected Store content strategy. You might be a junior shopper strategist with some content experience, an all rounder who can bring a breadth of expertise and experience, or a social strategist who fancies a fresh challenge - or someone who is just interested in content, technology and shopper psychology. You will take ownership of light research, looking for shopper insights, and applying strategic thinking to why we should use certain brand assets and messaging to bring to life a retail narrative. You will be looking to learn how to develop content strategies and plans from start to finish. From digesting the client brief, developing a strategic approach to deliver on the retailer & brand objectives, ideating, briefing the creative team. Who you are: We are looking for a passionate, vibrant and committed individual who is on top of digital, technological and retail industry trends, bringing high energy and enthusiasm into a team dynamic. We are looking for someone who has a desire to understand how the consumer interacts with brands in the retail space. This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and show-up with a drive to deliver world-class work every day.


A “typical” day might include any of the following:

  • Working with the Strategy Director to digest a brand brief and using data and insights to support with developing the strategic approach
  • Daily team meetings to manage continuous flow of fast turnaround briefs 
  • Reviewing a brand’s assets with the design team to determine what is best to use
  • Supporting with developing initial content ideas, storyboards and copy lines (calls to action)
  • Collaborating with the creative design on initial ideation
  • Supporting with conducting a trade audit, making critical observations and identifying opportunities within retail 


  • Experience in a content strategy role, retail and shopper marketing experience is a bonus
  • Experience working at pace and answering briefs with a fast turnaround
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and an ability to inspire internal and external stakeholders with your storytelling and ideas
  • An interest in the retail landscape, including channels, trends and technologies
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and briefing designers
  • Passionate about creating impactful and memorable content that cuts through the clutter
  • A can-do attitude and the willingness to help shape the content culture within the agency
  • Understanding of G-Suite, Slack, monday.com or basecamp is a bonus
